A few weeks ago, we hosted Seattle Greendrinks in the plaza. It was a great night of connecting with Seattle's environmental community and sharing some sustainable stories about Thornton Place.

Throughout the evening we asked guests to share their definition of "green" with us. Here are some favorites...

"What does green mean to you? Is it as simple as recycling? Or is it an entire way of living?"

Green means...

- Saving our planet and oceans for future generations.

- Trying to walk the talk and spread the word.

- Leaving your environment in a better state than you found it.

- Developing a technology that improves combustion by 50%.

- A way of life.

- It's life, health and all that big cycle of nature.

- Being 100% conscious about nature.

- Educating people about the environment.

- The last way into the future.

- Green is 02. No green. No man. Standing on earth.

- Green is the best way into the future.

- Green is a fad word but it's also a new awareness about how we humans are affecting the earth.

- Doing one's best to reduce use of gas-powered vehicles.

- Telling kids to watch your example rather than lecturing.

- A little blue...a little yellow.

It's Tax Day!

For some it's a day of dread, a mad-dash to the post-office or another trip to the tax-man to file an extension. For others it's a little paperwork followed by a nice little check in the mail! Delightful!

For first-time homebuyers it's bonus time!

Did you know? Your new US government is offering an $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers! Hmmm...so many ways to spend $8,000. New furniture? A killer surround-sound system and new LCD TV? A Mexican vacation? (Yeah!) Pay some bills? (Boo.)

The recently passed $8,000 tax credit means that you'll have more money to play with when you receive your tax return! Can't wait? The government has created a few options to help you receive the dollars fasten than 2010.

It's a big day for us at Thornton Place as we're excited to share our new website. There are some really fun changes to our previous site as well as some meaty information around our upcoming Spring Sales Release. Make sure to check out our current incentive program...we think its pretty cool!

We started this blog for the same reason others do - we love to talk about and share our favorite things! For us, that means community, sustainability, real estate industry news, design trends, entertainment, shopping and dining!

We're keeping tabs on all the fun stuff that's fit to share! Perhaps there's some news in the Seattle condo market or the interest rate has dropped again. Or there's a great volunteer opportunity or community event happening in our neighborhood. Maybe West Elm is offering a great deal and we thought we'd share it with those design junkies out there looking to outfit their homes.
